Art Contest for Mental Health - good prizes!

Art Show and Auction in Support of Mental Health
There is an art contest for grades 4-6 students, and you can take part in it (doing the art at home).  You're allowed to use any kind of medium you like (paint, pastels, sculpture, etc.)  The theme is "having resilience when facing mental health challenges”.  The art pieces will be sold at a fund-raising auction, so you have to be willing to give it up.

Prizes are $50 art supply gift cards to each winner, plus a $50 art supply gift card to the teacher + a certificate of achievement.

The rest of the details follow.

Calgary Public Teachers, Local 38 of the Alberta Teachers Association, is partnering with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) to host an Art Show and Auction in Support of Mental Health.  The event will take place on May 2, 2019 at the Canadian Mental Health Association Headquarters (CMHA) in Calgary, and the Local is seeking art submissions from both teachers and students with the theme “having resilience when facing mental health challenges”.

Art submissions can be made in the following categories:
·       Grade K-3
·       Grade 4-6
·       Grade 7-9
·       Grade 10-12
·       Adult

Submissions will be judged based on:
·       Interpretation and the clarity of the theme to the viewer;
·       Creativity and originality of the depicted theme;
·       Quality of the artistic composition and the overall design based on the theme;
·       Overall impression of the art

The medium is up to the artist. In making a donation of art in support of mental health initiatives, the artist is agreeing to: the display and sale (auction) of their work, with proceeds going to the CMHA, together with disclosure of any name, biographical information, or statements provided identifying them as the artist.  This information will be used by the Local to organize and put on the event.  This information will also be used, in some cases, to promote the event and may appear in Association publications (both print and online), appear in online and print news media, and/or on social medial sites. Donated artwork will not be returned.
